Does anyone know the function/purpose of the metal crossbar that mounts on the storage cubby? I removed mine to take to the powdercoater, and IMHO, it looks better without it. I may just get some black trim plugs and leave it out, if it doesn't serve a purpose.

Ahhh! Thanks Flash. Subs in the cubby, so nothing goes on the shelf. Maybe I save some powdercoat money to put toward a mesh grill, if Design 1offers them again?!
