Cab boot storage bag?
#1

Was there a storage bag for the cab boot? I didn't have one for either of my cabs.

I don't have my bag either. But didn't I read somewhere that the bag is a bit small and the boot cover hard to fit in?

I had always heard mention of the ever elusive boot cover bag, but have never seen one live in person. Now why does it not surprise me that the boot wouldn't quite fit in the bag? If they're available, or if someone is making an aftermartket item, I'd definitely be interested. I've honestly never looked, figuring they were NLA and/or very costly.

All bow to Mark now, we found a new classifier for the 968 owners pecking order. Do you go have the original bag for the boot? Go to the front of the line. Does your 968 come with a factory turbo? Go behind the guy with the boot bag...

i have the bag - boot cover fits fine in it - in fact, i also keep a towel in there to lie down over the window before dropping the top

I've always wondered whether mine was the correct bag. You probably fold your cover better than I do. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

jeff - i have 2 bags, and i don't know which one is for the bra, and which is for the boot cover - one has flaps, the other has a snap (and an embossed crest) - both are black vinyl

mark - there is definitely a technique to the folding

maybe i need to put together a DIY? i had to post the correct installation for the boot cover too - seems that most people have the cover over the shoulder belt swivel, when it should actually go behind it, so maybe "boot cover folding 101" is in order

I just figured the bag was actually a sunroof bag, I can't even remember what it looks like since the boot generally stays attached to the inside mounting points when not in use.

Is this Jeff? I think I have a bag tho it doesnt have a Porsche crest. Do you want it? If so, I'll try to find in my mess.

Lol. Where should I line up? I have my original boot bag, and my '92 has the plastics over the air box which includes the cubby with the original white cotton gloves, still in the bag, and the white towel with the red stripe, still in its bag.

FWIW, factory price on the boot cover is more than an aftermarket top! I'm replacing my top as soon as I get my suspension sorted.

If I'm not mistaken, my boot bag is made from the same material as the top and boot cover and doesn't have a snap, just a fold over flap. And flash is right, with a very careful particular fold, it does fit in the bag.

Nope, I was mistaken. My bag is black vinyl.
