Boxster Calipers? Anyone?
#1

Has anyone here fitted Boxster calipers to a 968? Just thinking... newer design. One piece. Readily available on flea bay or junk yards. The "S" model is red for a lot less $$ than actual big reds specific to the 968/911.

I was looking into Boxster S brakes as well, as it seems like it should be a no-brainer mod, but could not find a definitive answer.

Questions:

Will Boxster S rotors fit on 968 hubs?

If yes, then is a spacer/adapter all that's needed to fit Boxster S calipers to 968 hubs? Maybe we can get someone to make one...

If Boxster S rotors do not fit on 968 hubs, then could Boxster S calipers be used with stock or M030 968 rotors with a simple spacer/adapter?

I'm going to look into this weekend. A buddy of mine has a set of Boxster calipers. I will do some measuring.

After looking at the available options, I've become fairly serious about having a custom kit built from Stoptech components, as I think these represent the best value for dollar. The M030 and Big Red/Black options that are widely available give plenty of heat sink capacity for the track. I want something that also improves pedal feel, and from research, personal experience, and anecdotal discussions I don't think that's possible without (1) newer caliper technology at all 4 corners and (2) floating rotors. I'd also like to retain the OEM brake bias, which is thrown off dramatically by simply bolting on larger front calipers. The car is perfect with non-M030 front calipers and the 5/33 brake bias valve.

i have no info on boxster stuff - sorry

the reasoning cited above is exactly why the only brake mod i am likely to do is custom made larger floating rotors, but still using the OEM calipers - i just haven't gotten to it yet, as i don't need rotors just yet - i do know that i will NOT be making any of these for anybody else - the liability is just too high
