best front woofers
#1

I am going to replace the 5.25" woofers in my door panels. I am not too worried about money - I'd like to go for quality this time around.

Poking through the various threads here, I see Flash put some JL's in his in-law's cab? I think they were these: "JL Audio XR650-CW 6-1/2" Component Woofer" .

My intention is to run off the head unit for power (no separate non-sub amp at this time) and I'll also get a bazooka tube for the bass and subbass. I'm not going for the rockin-est sound system in the world. . . but somewhat close would be nice <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

TIA for your info guys.

the kenwood goes a lot lower, but is part of a set, and requires some modification in the plastic to get it to fit

well I'm gonna go with an 8" bazooka tube so the bass will be there. I am looking at the Infinity Kappa 5.25" component set for simplicity of install as well.

I'll prolly get the bazooka, the Infinity woofers and tweeters, then upgrade the 4x6's down the line.

Did you install the tweeters in the sock location?

I modified my door panel tweeter covers to accept soundstream tweeters. There is a write up I used when I did it. It was very simple.

Focal make excellent speakers, very expensive, excellent sound. Very small but powerful magnets allow for mounting in small spaces. I put them in my old 944. About $800 Canadian for the pair. Worth every penny.
