I remember that my 944 had an aluminum "belly pan" under the fuel tank area. Does anyone know if it was offered as an option or has anybody has seen one offered as an aftermarket item? Seems it might be of some good if for no other reason to clean up the airflow from under the car a little.

No, it was an aluminum tray-looking thing very much like the one under the (944) engine only smaller.

flash, regarding your prototypes, were you going more for form or function or maybe a combination of both? I thought about the possibility of having one made of aluminum but then came thoughts of how cool carbon fiber would be... then came reality and I figured a more cost effective solution might be fiberglass. What did you come up with?
BTW, what the heck would you call this pan thing back there? A groin pan? A booty pan? ???

Awesome, sounds exciting! I look forward to seeing one of your finished products! If you eventually make it into the production mode with these, count me in, I'll take one!!!

The Swiss cars got some sort of cover for the transmission to reduce noise I believe. Was your car Swiss?
