At Summit Point on Saturday he won the first session in the NASA TTC class Time Trial, during the second session Sunday he went off at turn 1 and hit a bare concrete wall. He was brain dead on arrival at the hospital Sunday and this morning was donating several organs to some lucky recipients. At this point nobody knows what happened but a HANS plus Halo seat may have avoided the most serious injury that occurred from the side impact. He was in an S2000 not a 968 but the braking zone speed is 125+ at turn 1 in an S2000 and that impact would be brutal in a 968 as well.
Make sure your cars and safety equipment are in good shape before you go out there. Don't cheap out on seats, restraints or other safety devices, it is cheaper than the alternative.
