Battery Vent - should it go somewhere?
#1

If we use a battery with a vent and a hose for it should we route this hose somewhere special? Or does it not matter at all?

Yes the hose must be guided to the underside of the car. This because the acid must not drain onto the metalparts of the car.. You will have heavy corrosion.

Coincidentally I just noticed that my vented battery had no vent hose last night, but when I looked I couldn't see a route for one. Is/was the OEM battery vented? If so, where does the tube go?

Bump, same here - my new battery came with a little vent hose about 4 inches long...where does it go?

It is possible that previous owners have cut away the hose when they installad a maintainance free battery.
