I was once in Phoenix when it was 110. I saw a man on the street burst into flames. He looked at me and said "at least they're dry flames!"

The battery has been holding charge well lately so I think the decreasing voltage problems were most likely attributable to that series of very hot weather weeks , months . But as to why the cable connections and posts are not hot anymore that remains a mystery .
