How is a 968 on the track in its stock form?
#21

The 968 used to be "THE CAR" to beat in SCCA autocross with many of the top 25 cars at the National Runoffs being 968s. As for the track, here is some video of my car on the track at our last PCA DE:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...4765818075.

My car is a stock M030 car with LSD. I do have the airbox mod and a chip and Pagid Orange pads on the front. I am also using Kuhmo Victoracers that were corded after the session in this video. In the video I am trying to catch the modified RS America in front of me but the other traffic keeps getting between us keeps me from getting any closer. The yellow Vette that passes me on the straight is a new 500 hp Z06. I think the 968 makes a fine car for the track right out of the box. Get one and join the fun.

Mike, great video. It was gratifying to see the Vette "in your sights" and not leave you in the "dust" with double the HP. Boy, it's great having a fiber optic interner connection.

Nice video. I've owned a 240z, and have an 88 911 & 73 911S. A 968 Coupe is by far a better car in stock form on a track than either. I would never push a stock 911 like I do my 968.

Mike, Great video. Its been a couple years since I've been to Roebling and watching your video makes me want to go back.

I love my 968 on track. It's not light and nimble, but it is well balanced, fast, and forgiving if you screw up like I sometimes do.

hey mike tremendous video. I always learn a bunch watching em.

What, that Vette raced by you then got tired of you snapping at his heels?

I'd like to think it was because he didn't like a 968 keeping up with him but in reality he was black flagged for some reason that I never found out. I was thinking that maybe one of the track stewards thought that he made a late pass on me even though he did complete the pass before the first brake marker which was the rule at this event.
