What the hell does that say on the back of your car???? <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Why it says PORSCHE, you big silly! Thanks for asking!

The Carrera moniker is an inside joke I suppose. See, I'd been longing for a certain 911 model for a veeeeerrryy long time. I had been doing tons and tons of research trying to decide which model I wanted/could afford to own and maintain. I thought for a long time I would be driving a 928 GTS right now. Then I began to buckle under the pressure of the 911 friends blah, blah, blah.

Anyway so when my very attractive and ultimately persuasive budget analyst vetoed my numerous pleadings... er... requests for the required number of greenbacks it was going to take to fill the hole in my garage... I opted for the 968 instead. So, I decided to (make the budget analyst) remember my futile attempts by immortalizing the script on the butt of my favorite car.

She... er... that is... my budget analyst kept using the "either/or" thing on me. Anybody else ever had that happen to them?

Good thing I listened though. Now, every time we see a 911 I kick in the guilt routine. Gee, I wish I had THOSE wheels. Gee, I wish I had THAT exhaust. Hehehe.

Hey no hard feeling Dan. The pic was to bust on you a bit. Thats what friends do.

Although I don't think cars should have an identity crises, I'm not appalled by the letters. Just not my cup of tea.

Theres a guy that lives in my area with a C6 Red vette and right on the front fender he has the yellow Ferrari crest. I've seen that car twice now and I just want to ask him why?

No worries Rhude, I love your sense of humor throughout the forum!!!

It's fun telling the story, especially to 911 dudes who are surprised (read: clueless) to learn Porsche never made a 968 Carerra. Pretty funny looks from that bunch too sometimes!

All in good fun my friend.

I've got a new BFF! How exciting!!!

Does anyone else have 993 Turbo Twists on their car? I'd like to see some more cars with these wheels. Diff colors, etc.

I just pulled off my turbo twists and installed the stock wheels for the winter. I never drove the car with the stock wheels. I like the feel but miss the look of the twists. The tires are in bad shape on the twists. I'm in the market for a new set for next summer. Any updated replacement tire recommendations or experience for the 18" twists ?
