Are these rods for real?
#1

If you have looked at another con rod thread you will know that I am in a bit of a dilemma trying to decide what to do with my 968 forged "mystery rods"; thanks Carl. It's an excellent read on another site and I wish I had found it ahead of my purchase. Talk about misrepresentation.

I am throwing out a few pictures to see if there are any educated opinions as to where they came from and whether they can be used in a 968; indeed, are they even forged?

Part number appears to be 944 103 111 1R, if that helps anyone.

I do believe that part number is the early 968 rod that you don't want. The 2R are the later rods.

Yea, I have the part number and I did read the 2R are the later rods but there was soooooo much confusion on that other site that I didn't know what I had. If these are forged as they claimed to be then they shouldn't be the same as the early rods; none of the 968 rods came as forged - correct?

Tks Ryan, picture confirms the worst, old rods. I'll contact the vendor and see if a return policy exists.
