HELP! My Passenger side window fell into the door
#1

The day after I bought my new (to me) 92 968 coupe, the passenger side window fell down inside the door. I took the inside door panel off and the two ball connectors at the ends of the regulator arms had popped out of the sliders in the tracks at the bottom of the window. I tried snapping the ball ends back in, but they pop right back out,......looks like the retainer aspect of the sliders is broken or worn beyond the ability to hold the ball ends in their respective seats.

On my old Mercedes, this problem is so common that they make replacement sliders that are peened in place to resecure the regulator arms to the bottom of the window via the sliders.

Any thoughts on whether there is a fix like this available for the 968, or do I have to spring for a new window regulator at $2-300 plus the time to remove the old one and install the new one.

Call Kathy at 210-657-1111 after 9am and ask her. That's Jone's Autowerks here in SA. They are 'sperts on P-cars...

When you call ask for Kathy and say that Michael Sorbera told you to call. She's pretty busy and may not want to talk to you unless you tell them I told you to call.
