Checking a 968 off my bucket list of cars in Tacoma...
#1

Other than a 911 a 968 has been at the top of my Pcar bucket list since I saw one racing at Pacific Raceways back when I corner worked for a few seasons. Been trying to get on track for the past 20yrs or so and now is the time. I picked up a decent 1992 968 Coupe locally. Gonna clean it up and prep it for DE/track days and see if the possibility of club racing exists for me. Will be spending some time in here learning the ins and outs of these cool cars and everybody's experiences, especially when it comes to race prep.

You are welcome I really like how they handle on 17's compared to the stock 16's.

Good Luck in your journey.

Staggered and square tire  set ups is a choice to make. Strip the interior. Get a proper roll cage and put a removable steering wheel. Don’t forget racing seats and a harness. Try to find lightweight wheels and specific track tires. If you get serious with the track you will need a trailer because your car will break down. Just some observations and a few of the things I’ve done.

Yeah I have been doing some reading on staggered and square setups, alot lot to play with there.  Got all those items on my to do list as well.  An underlying goal as I build is to minimize downtime and maximize drive time.  Try and do upgrades inbetween DE's and tracks days instead of a full teardown and build up.   Get to learn the car from stock to race prepped.

Yes that is what I started to do until I fell down the hole. If you are going to track frequently a track car is the better option.
