Aftermarket battery - Tie down?
#1

Are there any good aftermarket batteries that work with the original tie-down? The Die Hard that's in there now does not. I checked all the previous threads and couldn't get a difinitive answer.

Thanks,

Tom

I have an Interstate.

If you need me to look for the model number, let me know.

You may want to search the 924/944/951/968 forum at www.forums.rennlist.com too. I don't recall the specific "group" numbers, but believe there are 2 or 3 that fit these cars. I don't believe Sears had one in the group when I was looking.

Bought the last two at Murray's Discount Auto Parts, seem to recall "group" number 24R, but could be WAY off.

i just put an optima red top in mine. i had to build a new hold down out of wood.

battery is very nice and well worth the 10 minutes to make a new hold down.

My 968 has a NAPA battery that looks just like the interstae model I had before and both worked with the factory hold down.

My 968 came with a NAPA battery that worked with the factory hold down. When I replaced it with a Diehard Group 48 battery, it fit as well.

If you'll check your thread on 968.net, you may have the answer you need. I won't double-post -either questions or answers.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like I was doing something wrong or there something wrong with my car...I'll have to take a closer look.
