Sensor on bottom of intake manifold - what is it?
#1

Title says it all. There is a sensor on the bottom of the intake manifold with 2 spade terminals connecting to the engine wiring harness. It threads into the intake casting. What is it? Temperature or manifold pressure? Don't understand why you would need temp as there is an IAT before the TB on the S2 - but that's what it looks like.

I presume the 968 has this connector as well. I'm trying to figure out what it is to figure out what parameter number it is in the motronic code.

No sensors on the 968 intake. I would guess it's a temp sensor like on the 928 intakes.

Looked through the wiring diagram - it is a temp switch that turns on one of the cooling fans if the intake manifold temp exceeds 42 degrees. Makes no sense to me except it might pull air towards the stock intake location (above/in front of radiator) and perhaps try and cool the intake itself in stop start traffic. Weird.
