I've been using Adam's stuff for a while now and they just had their 4th of July sale so I figured it would be a good time to stock up. They just happened to come out with their new 2 step paint correction stuff instead of the 3 step and I figured it was time to upgrade from the Porter Gable to their Flex machine, so I had a big box of stuff to try out. I had fellow forum member kzem1 bring his early recessed badged 92 Amazon Green car over as I knew the paint was in desperate need of help The paint had some of the worst water spots I have ever seen on a car in all the flat parts of the car, the roof, hood and fenders. We started with a good wash then a clay of the whole car, then I moved on the first step paint correction compound and the Flex at full bore, the water spots were not budging, but the paint was looking much better now, you could actually see the green. So reluctantly out came the 3000 grit sandpaper and I went to town on the roof and hood. It's much better now, it still has some water spots and etching even after sanding, but I really didn't want to go too far with the sanding not knowing the present thickness of the clear coat. Overall it's much better and really like the Flex over the Porter Gable (which Adam's no longer sells as it's now made in China) and the new 2 step polishing process is much easier.
I didn't get a picture of the car outside before I started, should have.
Here you can see some of the water spots and cloudiness in the paint.
More of the starting condition.
Water spots on the roof
Out comes the sandpaper, half the hood sanded and the other half sanded and the Adam's 1st stage of the paint correction.
Roof cleaned up
The car coming along in the garage
And now in what sunlight was left.
Now all he needs are some non cloudy headlights.
