A few 'drive' stories from Europe.
#1

Some interesting drive stories here, I thought I'd share a few of my adventures with you, you've probably heard the phrase "nothing handles like a rental" ? Well, I've kind of made a hobby out of it, I've posted pics and some links below to a few of my favorite trips below and hope you enjoy them.

The mile and three quarter's high club, Europe's highest road, in a Hyundai

Not all my adventures involve rental cars, this one was a bit hairy...

Barnstorming ! Racing a Maserati 250F rep against a TigerMoth Biplane

England to France and back just to fetch a bottle of champagne, in a day, before the pub closes.

I've done lots more like this but these are my favorites, I hope you enjoy them, if anyone wants any info on these trips then I'd be happy to help

Cheers.

You're referring to the Lotus/Champagne trip ? Yes, it was huge fun, we had the Club Racer Elise which is the super-lightweight version, no stereo, plastic seats, and it was noisy and cramped. Yet we were still fighting over the car keys when we got home. Great cars, I would have had an Evora instead of the 968, if I could have afforded it. I'm a big Lotus fan.

Stelvio is good, endless switchbacks, but the Gavia and Foppa passes were (for me) more entertaining, longer straights, sharper hairpins, and absolutely ZERO barriers. The road is only 1.5 cars wide and you are looking down onto the clouds below. Hugely dangerous and fantastic fun, one day, they'll close roads like this to the public, until then I'll keep on driving them

Looks like fun. All except for the endless plunge into hell. I have a bit of acrophobia - that picture looks terrifying....

But thanks for sharing. I would love to see more of folks adventures in the 968.
