I would love to have this but, I do not really want to switch providers anymore. I am happy with direct tv. Perhaps if the new channel was there I would be 100% happy.

Speed vision was great till FOX took it over. Now speed is ok. At least I can catch all of the F1 races one way or another. But speedTV leaves alot to be desired.

Probably wouldn't switch providers but would be willing to pay for it a la carte on dish network. My satellite reception is limited to dish and I would go with rabbit ears before going back to cable.

Good Luck!!

I would love to get a non nascar racing channel! Personally I wouldn't mind switching since I don't watch TV that much anyways. As long as I continue to get Discovery, I'll be happy

I agree about speed TV kind of sucking as of late, but they do show other racing series, like GT and ALMA, FIA sport bikes which is nice. But still WAY too much nascar, or nascar related races.

I certainly agree that there is way too much NASCAR on Speed. However Speed does seem to cover a lot of venues that of interest to me, i.e. road races. My complaint is that they don't show reruns of road races. As for another Speed type channel, I would certainly support it if it were available on my current setup (Verizon FIOS) and would have the races in HD. Don't know why Speed doesn't broadcast in HD like on some ESPN broadcasts. So, for now I will have to tolerate the NASCAR musings and turn to other channels when they run those shows. One thing there is nothing like being at the race first hand. You certainly don't see as much but the sounds and smells are terrific and getting close to the cars and drivers can't be beat.

I would watch/pay for the channel but switching my provider is very iffy, not that I would miss the rest of NASCAR channel (err speed) programming .

I remember when Speed Vision first hit the air waves the motto was "If it has a motor we'll race it" now it seems to be {If it has a NASCAR sponsor we'll show it; ONLY NASCAR, and blinged out rappers cars}. I have sent them so many e-mails about this very thing they probably have me on the blocked senders list.

I would certainly enjoy watching it, but probably would not change providers just to get it. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

Sounds like a great idea but I would not leave DirecTV.

This is what SpeedTV used to be before they became NASCAR nation.

I can't tell you the last time I saw World Ralley, British touring car, or European Le Mans series racing on Speed.

I don't think they even showed the Isle of Man this year.

One plus is that SpeedTV will be HD on DirecTV this fall. And they do cover Le Mans and F1 like no one else can.

I like the idea, but the challenge of such an undertaking is providing production standards and on-air talent worth watching. Idiot announcers and bad camera angles will ruin the best races. Just look at how bad the TNT NASCAR broadcasts are - and they are well-funded!

Having said that, Speed is NASCAR most of the time and I would love to be able to see World Rally, DTM, Porsche Supercup, etc. as I was able to on Sky Sport in Germany.

Will I switch/spend money to see? I would have to see the product and the lineup. If it pulled together the best of the English-language European programming, along with shows like Top Gear and Victory by Design, then I would probably give it a chance.

Sometimes with cable I feel like I'm paying a premium to watch informercials. What was once a late night staple, infomercials are now on Cox on weekday and weekends, day and night. grrrr.
