968 Turbo
#41

Nice 968RS conversion Eric! The 968 really needs a lot more hp, and this is the proper Porsche AG way. Car looks awesome and your movies have inspired my own European (amateur of course) racing career!

Awesome VID - love the blazing speed down the straits. Looked like a stock car spun and tapped your bumper in one of the later segments. No damage I hope?

Yeah! Great VID Eric! Love the sound of Gwen in combination with racing sounds. Thanks for the bank account warning... Afraid it's already a to late, but worth every dollear/ euro/ pound.

Even though it's taken 4+ years , I'm ready to beat turbos. As it stands right now I'm even with lightweight 951's with improved boost and tuning-roughly 290hp. They pull me 2 car lenghts out of some corners but I kill them entering and exiting most corners. I run even down the straights.
My next step is in progress right now and will be tested in a week or so.
I have developed a "Racing Intake manifold" with a large single throttle body that should develop 15-20 more hp at 5500 to 7500rpm.
Hoping to add some videos soon
Pete

Let's race!

How hard is it to get to a useable 275rwhp (on a dynojet) with the N/A engine? and how many kidneys would I need to sell to get all the parts? I'm looking at running a new class which has a 10 to 1 power to weight ratio. (race weight w/driver vs. hp@wheels). I know I can make it work with the turbo but all things being even I would prefer the N/A power for the simplicity and instant delivery.

Ben - Yes, it was sorta a reverse t-bone. Very minor damage.

erik - 275 at the wheels is going to be tough - that would be 315 at the flywheel - i suspect pete will get over 300 easily enough, but 315 is probably going to be very hard at 3 liters - those last few are the tough ones

now, a 3.2............................

Erik,
I'm thinking 250+ on dynojet at 7k. Possiby 260 at 7,500 but I'm not looking to rev that high. My FH has carillo rods and should be fine but oiling could be an issue.
The motor I'm building $$$ will make 275 but is costly. 12.5 to 1, special pistons, very special 2 piece cams with adjustable sprockets. With dry sump and ITB's it dynoed @375 engine
What' wrong with me???

Bob,
New engine should make 315+ engine and 270-275 rwhp on dj. This is at a conservative rpm.
