I find them very comfortable. I drove 400+ miles without stopping a few months back. I was surprised how good I felt when I got out of the car. My passenger noted the same. These seats are as comfortable as the sport seats in my Volvo!

Hold on a minute! 400+ miles...without stopping! You either have Fred Flintstones car or you caught your braces on a passing vehicle! 400miles! Unbelievable!

Aircooled 911 seats will fit and bolt right in, as will 928 seats (at least the 1985+ style, I do not know about the earlier ones.) The water cooled 911 and Boxster 996/986 and newer versions need to be modified to fit and will sit high without additional modifications. There might be more nuances than that. Here is a Boxster seat into 944 writeup that should translate to 968:

These sport seats have been offered to me for $900 (for the pair), and the owner says they're from a 944. Bolt spacing is 16" and should fit right in the 968. (They are currently in the owner's early '70s 911).

Pic doesn't show the side, but there's no power buttons. Leather is not cracked but is stiff and needs some deep reconditioning, which I'm confident I can do successfully. Bolsters look great in person, just some wear on the bead.

My '93 stock seats are just not comfortable on my butt (as many others have said on this forum) or upper back for long drives; I use a small back pillow for lumbar. These black seats are much more comfortable, even though Ive only sat briefly in them.

So, does the price sound good, or too high for such basic seats?

So these seats are full manual - no motors in them at all? I've been wondering if Porsche even made full manual seats! I'd love to lose some weight by going to full manual.

Price on those seats seems pretty decent. Check here:

for some price comparisons. These guys have a lot of used seats available.

yes, they made full manual seats, though i'm pretty sure the 968 database doesn't show it. i ran into one guy though who ordered his with full manual sport seats, so i know it did happen.

I have a later 94' coupe, with what i think are the 993 seats. Heated, power is 4-way. I dont think they are "sports", because the bolster looks fairly normal.

How do I find out for sure? I suppose i could snap a photo. I would want sport seats like the picture in previous post.

You likely have the comfort seats. If the bolsters aren't significantly larger than normal, they aren't sport seats. You can check the option codes under the carpet and if you see 383, 387 or 381, 382, you have sport seats.

Same here. I find taking the wallet out helps some but then I forget to take it out of the door pocket when I get out.

The sport seats were a highly sought item for a while ( could still be..) and thus commanded high prices, but you'd be surprised how many drivers have traded their sport seats for the regular ones. Word is they feel pretty great intially but then they start "closing in" on you; if you're a skinny guy it's probably not an issue but they tend to be fairly restrictive to the more normally proportioned folks out there. And the regular seats are supposedly a lot better suited for longer drives. But if you track the car, or do spirited canyon twisties on a regular basis, the sport ones may be the choice. I drove a 968 with the OE sport seats and after the first five minutes which felt pretty nice because you get that huging, contoured to your body sense, it started wearing out on me very quickly, and drove me nuts because I felt my arms and elbows had little or no room to be in a comfortable position, even the lower section bolsters seemed to close in on my thighs and I had to move around all the time just to get in the right position,

blah, blah, blah, bitch, bitch, bitch, but the bottom line is : I also prefer the non-sports seats. BTW, 5'11" , 180 lbs just to put things in perspective.

I have A 1993 Club Sport, which has Ricardo racing seats standard. I find them very comfortable on long trips (4 to 6 hours). I am not young, but am not a big person.

I was surprised how comfortable the are. There is a bit of an art to get in and out.

I've lusted after the sport seats as well - just for the cool factor as I don't really have a problem with the way my 'regular' 993 seats feel, but I probably shouldn't take the plunge without sitting in one first. 6'4" 220 lbs. here.

Don't be too afraid of sports seats my "chubby" friend I'm 6'4" and 230 and my sports seats feel just great. The only problem I ever have is on long distance drives. The bottom seat bolsters tend to make my leg ache as they are quite angled but I think all the seat bottoms are common in the 968 seats, no? Sometimes I just put a 1 cm black cushion in the middle of the seat to raise me up just a little so the bolster angle isn't quite so acute.

I had a set of sport seats recovered and was amazed at how much better they felt with a new hide on them; I'm 6' 1" and my scale tells me I'm fat everytime I get on it so all and all pretty comfortable seats
