Iris blue UK spec Sport
#1

Hi,

Just a few pics of my 1994 RHD UK spec sport in Iris blue. It's done 130,000m, and is generally in good shape. The fuel line had corroded through and the rear disks needed changing, which is being done now by Car Service Visser in Hilversum, Netherlands, but other than that (fingers crossed) no horror stories. Is my first 968 and so far I couldn't be happier. Hugely grin inducing car..

Very nice looking car. ...seems to have been a problem during production though. They put the steering wheel on the wrong side. [Image: biggrin.gif]

Nice looking 968! Much better "blue" than the sample at the Porsche Museum!

I have been in Europe for the past five days and have not seen a 968 in my travels (only at the Porsche Museum!).

At this very moment I am sitting in my rental car along a canal in Ter Apel (northeastern area of the Netherlands) enjoying some local "free" wireless internet, while the wife and daughters are shopping (not my forte).

Good to see that the steering wheel is on the RIGHT side of the car.

The battery in the boot also helps with weight distribution.

Nice car.

Nice car, know it well as I very nearly bought it myself in November last year! Hagley Specialist cars had it for sale and he knew a friend of mine who put me onto it before it was officially for sale, assume thats where you bought it from?

If memory serves me right the current (now previous) owner had owned since 2005 and looked after himself, belt change though was long overdue as last done in 2004 so get that done ASAP! It supposedly had a full brake overhaul in 2008 so surprised to hear of the brakes needing work although it was only the front discs that were changed.

This was the info I was given back in early November;

------------------------------------------

1.The car has covered 130,000 miles.

2.The cambelt was last changed at 110k miles in 2004.

3.The service history is

date miles

18/04/94 2069

24/04/95 10,281

29/04/96 17,697

06/02/97 25642

05/03/98 38,134

19/03/99 46,958

17/03/00 59,796 (plus cambelt)

13/10/00 71,736

05/09/01 83,387

14/02/02 91,018

29/07/02 96,003

02/11/03 106,801

14/01/04 new cambelt

28/04/05 117,660

16/08/08 brake overhaul inc new front discs + pads

4.It's the Sport model, which has the rear spoiler, bodykit and sport seats, plus this car has the electric tilt targa sunroof.

It’s been owned by a friend of mine as a "hobby" car since 2005 and has had 6 owners in total, think it was last MOT'd in August.

It's in good overall condition and we're asking £7,850.

timing and balance shaft belts would be a very good idea if original (not included in your rundown). Great cosmetics.

Beautiful car. Yes, I'm envious of you guys in the Empire with your rear-mounted batteries. Working of a conversion for mine...
