968 Cab Storage cubbies
#1

i'm trying to find a set of 968 Cab Storage cubbies. Thy have to be Linen (Light Grey). I'd like to replace the rear seats in my coupe. If anyone has them for sale or would be interested in swapping my rear seats (to install in their cab) for their cubbies. Let me know.

Thanks Pat,

I'll see if i can find anything. Do you know if the 944 S2 Cabs have the same cubbies & bar that goes across as 968's?

YW.

I do not remember what the S2 had, but I think they had seats.

You might also try 20th Street Auto Parts in Phoenix. Last time I talked with them they had a couple of 968s on site.
www.20car.com I did this on my coupe and am very pleased with the results. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

I did this myself and love it.

I sold the late 94 rear seats for $325
So you can your money back once you find the cubbies.

I just gutted my 944's interior and pulled the 968 cab storage in the picture. If it's the color you want, I'd willing to sell (but I have no use for rear seats....).

Joe,
That looks like it may be the color of my interior. Do you have any other pictures of your interior so i can get a better idea.

Here are a couple old pictures of my car, what do you think, a match?

It might be -- but it's really hard to tell by picture. When I get home (this weekend), I'll see if I can snap a few more close-ups of the storage cubbie itself. The unit is actually a lighter color (linen) than the rest of my interior (light tan/beigh).

for what it's worth, from what i can see in the pics, they look like a match to me

I think you are right.

note: there will be gaps at the sides to contend with - the boxes are not an exact fit into the hardtop, due to the wider interior side panels of the cab which protrude farther into the cabin, in order to accommodate the mechanism

porschedude may have come up with a solution to this, or at least could probably snap a pic for you

i know there will be small gaps on the sides based on what i've read in the past. i can live with them. I'd rather have the cubbies back there then useless seats.

+ Bigger trunk
+ Storage Cubbies
- Gaps

No one will ever notice the gaps if they are not familur with the car. Which is 99% of the population. I thought it would bother me at first, but I would rather have that than a useless joke of a rear seat which would never be used.

It does and that's a good point -- except this storage cubbie came out of somebodyelse's 968 cab.

Hi Fox,

Do you still have the rear seats from your coupe? I may be interested in using them in my '93 Cab. with Linen Interior.

thanks
