944 Doors
#1

Hello,

I recall that 944 doors will fit on a 968? Is this true? It seems like the 944 doors a more plentiful and much cheaper.

Any downside to using a 944 door?

Thanks for you help!

Ben

Ben,

I watched your video...".rubbin is racin" as they say.

I am looking at a picture of a 944 next to a 968 and the doors sure look the same.

if the inside structure is any indication, they are likely the same - i have one of mine apart now for stereo work, and it still has the 4x6 speaker hole, though that may have been for the CS speakers

not sure about the door handle fitment though

Ben-

Should fit. Internals might be different (e.g. cross bracing, etc.), but otherwise should be an easy swap.

For those interested, a popular modification by the 944 crowd is to change out existing mirrors and door handles to the 968 versions...

Ben,

I believe both of my doors on FH are from 944. It's hard to tell though, the interiors were gutted for side impact bars on cage.

They both have 944 handles and they work. I'm assuming no one retro-fitted old handles to make it look more 944ish
