JP,

Awesome comment about Free Range Eggs at the Barn. Not originally my reason for naming the business.

The Free Range Header on Chris's car makes for quick spool- up on engine at corner exit. Sorry you RHD loosers cannot fit to your car.

Heh, well since our engines are 1/2 of a 928's V8, why not try to build one from the OTHER half of the v8 Problem solved!

Pretty piece of work also Pete - i have a quick look at them when i go around to his house (we even had a look at the interference problem with the steering). Problem is there's a new kid on the block now who has learnt on the back of my mistakes, has a car that attracts more attention and picks up better than mine all in the space of the few months it's been on the road.

looking at all the track photos and videos, none of the cars seem to have have bras, but I hear you might get some gravel or debris occasionally thrown in your direction by vehicles in front of you ( mostly on the turns where some cars could go off track into the dirt surface..)

is the no-bra m.o. a heat related issue, or pebble attacks are simply not frequent enough for anyone to worry about it ?

hey guys i will let you into a little and unknown secret, JP was wearing a bra on that day, but dont tell anyone , i find them a little uncomfotable especially those wire rimmed ones, maybe i should invest in a sports type, ha ha ha . to tell you the truth not many over here have them fitted to the cars, i think its a US thing, regards Chris.

i have heard that some of the event organizers prohibit them as a potential "parts flying off the car thing" but i have not personally heard that (you could tape it down anyway)

i don't run mine because of the intake restriction and i am so low that the tire would rub one of the clips in a hard corner (still haven't worked that out)

i used to have a heat issue because of the screen mesh in the front - it blocked too much air from getting to the radiator - once i got rid of that, the problem went away - it meant some significant mods to the bra though

I had a blast ! The instruction was extremely valuable to a track novice such as myself ;I learned exactly when and where and how to turn with the least amount of effort, in the process discovered what this car is truly capable of ( amazing ! ) so I left the event with even greater appreciation for the 968, and with improved driving skills ( though one can hardly imagine being better than I was in the first place .. ) so worth every penny spent for this.

Also realized on the drive back how much more dangerous the highway is than the track; way too many idiots at the wheel

looking at some of the online photos from the event and comparing my car in turns, with the modified suspension ( as noted in the signature section below ) vs. flash's car in the same turns it only goes to show that no matter how much you improve the handling, there's always another guy with far better set up than yours his car is flat and as perfectly straight as can be, while I'm nearly scraping the ground with one side.

no doubt my instructor was much, much heavier than his and of course I was pulling 1.2 Gs while he was probably at no more than .08 Gs because let's face it, my car is faster than Bob's so I was likely going so much quicker in those turns.. yeah, that's it ! that's why my car must have been banking and his wasn't hey, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it !

oh well, it's not how well you race but how good you look doing it, right ? so here's a shot of "yours truly", in the crisp and clean Martini jersey before the race ( very fitting in that I always profess having a martini or two before you get on the track )

Nice one Dan, i take your hooked on the track buzz now! your eyes look a bit odd in that photo dude, i'd say you have had more than a martini or two, lol. regards pazzer.

as much as I enjoyed the track, the predominant part of my brain which is top speed oriented ( as opposed to the one which favors and appreciates handling in turns ) still wins at " the end of the day " .

The oval track around us at Ca Speedway had a few NASCAR vehicles ( the R.Petty school I think ) going flat out, while we were twisting and turning on the inside course, and to be honest all I could think about is what I'd give to be driving an open wheel champ/indy vehicle ( don't care for the nascar ones at all...), or, even my 968 for that matter, going as fast as the laws of physics would allow...
