Anyone look into windscreens lately? I was wondering if anyone had any idea where to get one for our cab?

um - i'll bite.  waylander, what windscreen are you getting done on a hardtop?  as far as i know, they have never had a windscreen (as opposed to a windshield, which is the glass in front of you)

you americans have different words for almost everything in the English language.

genuine Porsche green top tint windshield fitted in my coupe by the insurance company for $120, just for info they are £553 British pounds from OPC.

i have it on mine, but it is optional, and governed state by state.

the windscreen we have been talking about is the mesh unit that lives behind the headrests, and is for a cabriolet, to control the extraneous air that enters the cabin when the top is down.

In Oregon the insurance company's do not offer glass protection, since we do not use salt in the winters but they heavily sand the roads. So I changed my comprehensive insurance to a $0.00 deductible. This way if I catch a stone which cracks my windshield or windscreen, it cost me nothing. the difference between a $250.00 deductible and a $0.00 deductible is about $7.00 more a year.

I never know who is going to answer where so I post on 2 or 3 sites. I was trying to see if there are any other choices besides Porsche for $400.

Flash how much do you want for the car?

Just kidding, calling sunset.

Thanks

actually, what i want varies from day to day.  some days it's higher than others.  some days i just don't care, and if somebody walked in, i may take what they offer.

that's why i'm sticking it on a showroom floor, and letting them handle it.  i've been working on prepping it on and off over the last week, and i only have a couple of small things left to do. then off she goes.

the bottom line is that i'm just done with the car, and ready to move on.  ironic, now that i have everything finally done to it, and all the modern creature comforts added, but it is what it is.

If I had a convertible I'd keep the windscreen in the boot, because it wouldn't be needed with the hood up.

actually, you can leave it in the car, and just flip the vertical piece down when the top goes up.  i just did it.  because the thing is a pain in the butt to install, that works out a lot better
