White coupe in Dallas
#21

Hey all,

I dropped my car off at Louden this morning and there was an Amazon Green coupe parked out front. Looked sharp! Anyone know whose car that is?

I've got to get my AC fixed before any serious driving this summer. I think the coolant is going bad because on the really hot days we have had the car just can't put out cold air. If it starts cool (has been in the garage or is early morning), I'm okay, but if I go to lunch and leave it outside I'm screwed. I'm all for having the top down but in business clothes with 100 degree temperatures it is a little warm.

That being said, I'm up for at least grabbing a drink and checking out some other cars...

Quote:Saw a white coupe in East Dallas a few weeks ago...Lovers & Central area. I moved to the area about a year ago and wondered if this was a neighbor???? mustanghusker

That was probably my white puppy as I work in the area & am generally buzzing around the various freeways...

Hopefully you got your a/c squared away in time for the 100+ current temps...toasty!!

Hi all you DFW Area 968'ers. I am up in Argyle, near Denton, but would love to meet. August is a good month for me as it looks like I will get back to my usualy travelling way (for work) starting again in September.

The shop I use is Mayo in Euless. They have always been very fair and do the work right. It always seems like their prices are very fair too.

Drop me a PM if any of you want to meet in the next couple of weeks.

Tour is no problem; I am on Saturday duty the 23rd if that works for anyone...

Meanwhile; why don't we all hook up at the Night-Time DE at Texas Motor Speedway this Saturday (9th)....plenty of parking!!

It's being run by The Drivers Edge so there is always an intetresting blend of car types to check out, both Porsches & non-Porsches...

It will be using the ALMS 2.4 mile oval & in-field combo...

It runs from 06:00pm to Mid-nite which makes it's much cooler temp-wise...especially near the front straight where you can catch a nice triple digit breeze...

tons of fun, lots of good photo-ops...that's where I'll be...!!!

Besides, it's fun watching the non-Porsches smokin' their rotors...lol

Cool; come on down...!!!

I'll be in the white '68; you can't miss it...it has the 26's on it....just kiddin'...!!

I like my 'little' 17's for daily use; easier surviving the never-ending road construction surprises they throw at us...

If I'm not near the car just ask any of the Porsche drivers in the garage stalls where they saw me last; the track guys all know me...

Hey, keep me in the loop also. I live by the galleria. Would love to see other cars. Has anyone seen the red convertible? The driver works out at 24hour fitness on beltline and the tollway???

So evidently I haven't been on the site in a while, as I completely missed the gathering opportunity. Hopefully everyone had a good time. I'm a no go for this weekend, and can't do anything for the next few weekends, but am up for something either mid week or in September.

I am always curious to know if the little things I notice with my car are unique to me (special isn't always good) or if they are general 968 traits.

Randall, the white coupe may be you it sounds like. I have seen the car now on multiple occassions on Lovers between Central & Abrams.

Well I'm back in town and the stable is all good for maintenance. Did you guys ever meet?

I have seen the red cab a few times, but never at the 24 hour fitness. I would out there as well, so look for my car in the lot.

Anyone have time upcoming?

Hi '68 Guys;

Looks like we all got buried for the 3rd quarter...lol

I just finished annual physical inventory so I'm definitely needing some Porsche R&R to unwind...

To that end we are sponsoring the DE this weekend (8th-9th) at ECR (Eagles Canyon Raceway) for some tire killin' fun.

Since I haven't had time to finish rebuilding the engine on the 951 track car I'll be driving my white 968 along with 3 other 968 drivers;

it would be even more fun if there were another 2-3-4 968's in the mix!!

Even if you aren't driving come on down (or up) to check out the action; look for the blue & white Park Place tents...I'll be there when not on track.

If you get there before 10:30-11:00am on either day you can still do Parade laps during the lunch break to get a view of the track from the drivers seat;

no helmet required for Parade laps.

There will be 125-130 cars on hand so there will be plenty to see & do, photo ops etc. & give us 968 guys a good place to hook up.

For details click on the PCA Maverick Region DE website at http://mav.pca.org/Events/DE.asp

or you can e-mail me (info below name) for a full year calendar of DE/Club Races with links to the various tracks etc.

This is one I put together personally to consolidate all the track info for the tracks in this area;

therefore it contains no spam or 'corporate crap'...just info for us track junkies...lol

See ya' trackside;

Randall

Once again, I missed a get together opportunity. It probably wouldn't have worked out for me anyhow. I am sure it was a good time. Randall, I have seen what I believe might be you on a few more occasions recently, in the same east Dallas area.

The weather is starting to turn a little cold, but it is still great driving. Hopefully we can figure out another time to meet up.
