What you tell yourself when you sell your car...

<b>                       "Bad Car"</b>

I know it's a bad car, I know it's a piece of junk

I know the best tire on it, is in the trunk

Just when you start to pass, it always starts to shake

'Cause over 55, it's a bitch to drive on the interstate

Yeah, it's broke-down more than it runs

But I'm broke-down knowing that it's done

It witnessed all those tears nobody ever saw me cry

When I broke the law through Arkansas to tell my dad goodbye

It didn't get there pretty, but it got me there that day

So I'm a little sad to see it roll away

I know it's a bad car, I know that the windshield's cracked

When it isn't leaking oil, it's leaking gas

It always needs a jump, it always needs Freon

Yeah, there's death and taxes, and the check engine light blinkin' on

But it heard the first bad word that my firstborn ever said

Running late when I hit the brakes at a yellow turning red

There's still Kool-Aid on the console that reminds me of that day

So I'm a little sad to see it roll away, roll away

It knows more of my secrets, than I'll ever tell

So to keep from crying, as they tow it away

I tell myself

I know it's a bad car, I know it's a piece of junk

I know the best tire on it, is in the trunk

Hey Matt,

Long time...And no I'm not looking to sell my car. Actually looking in to doing some extensive maintenance this coming year.

It is still currently my daily diver (for the last 17 years) and after putting over 110K on it myself its time...I was planning on contacting

you to see if your guy was still working on our cars...but that's something for a different thread.

As for the song I just thought it was kinda funny - The things you remember and tell your self when the time comes to sell....

Hey Sam, good to see you pop back up on the forum,  it has been quite a while...and also good to hear you’re holding on to the 968 !  Also, that’s an impressive number of miles you logged on it .  (  I’ve put on about 102 K miles on mine, out of a total of 115 K now , but for the last five years I might have driven it no more than a dozen times, but never selling it ...ever !  ).   Cheers and happy new year !!

Hey Sam,

Yes, Robert is still doing 968's. In fact, his son's wife's dad has a sweet red coupe that helps him stay in practice. He just did belts, rollers, water pump, engine mounts, and a few other things on mine. I went with the Gates racing belt to see how they work, and so far everything is good. Drop me a PM if you want his contact information, I think it would be worth the drive to get the work done, but I have no idea of the cost on your side of the hill.

Happy motoring, and I'm glad to hear that you are still driving the car.
