Which Knock sensor is #2?
#1

Hey Folks,

Got to use my just-delivered Durametric tonight to fix my airbag light and to find out why the check engine light is on. Code 32 (Knock Sensor 2).

Is Knock Sensor #2 the one closest to the firewall or closest to the radiator? Also, I looked at Pelican parts and 944online (only 2 so far) and none seemed to list the bolt that needs to be replaced along with the sensor - any recommendations on where to get this from?

Thanks in advance!!

dc automotive or auto atlanta as both sites have parts diagrams would be my guess.

Cheers,

FYI (and for future searchers)- #1 knock sensor is forward-most sensor (at the front of engine), while #2 is the rearward sensor (Firewall). I replace the #2 sensor and reset fault code with Durametric, just to have the check engine light go on again within a mile of driving it. Checked it with Durametric, and it said Knock sensor #1 was bad!!

Replaced #1 as well and, after 50 miles or so, no new check engine light occurances yet (knock on wood - and yes - PUN INTENDED!)

I replaced knock sensor #2 a couple thousand miles ago. Now I'm getting a code for knock sensor #1. This time, the car does seem to be running rough. Last time, I could believe that the sensor had just gone bad. This time, I'm concerned that that sensor is working and there is something else wrong.

Any suggestions of what to check first, second, etc.?
