Well, I think I found my 968.

That looks great. Your pic of the seats is somewhat faded. What do the seats really look like. If there is a slight fade perhaps you could condition them back. Regardless it's a great combo!

the silver rose of the 951 looks good against the magenta. still not my cup of tea, but they go well together. silver probably would too, but i think the light tint in the silver rose looks better.

I love the outside but I am not sure I could live with the inside. A car is like a person, can be nice on the outside but the interior bits are a bit unsightly at times <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

What is it with funereal black interiors??!!@##@ It seems 99% of cars have black insides here in Aus. Apart from the obvious dirt issues why is every one so anti any sort of colour? I would have been delighted to have a tan, champagene, even red interior in any of my cars, but whatever the exterior colour you choose, especially in a new car, it seems you have to have a stygian all black interior, which is dark, hot, and so booooring! I think the manufactureres like it because you can hide dodgy workmanship and cheap materials in the gloom! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/mad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

When we ordered a new BMW 1 Series for my wife last year we wanted a light interior and had to wait almost 5 months for a special order. Now that we have it's a much nicer place to be than some datk cavern where you have to use a flashlight to find anything dropped on the floor, even at noon on a sunny day!

So keep the Magenta and avoud being categorised as a colour-blind, boring follower!

[There...I think I've used up my annual allowance of exclamation marks!] <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

Hear hear, I concur. Dare to be different. Color your world. I've purchased two red cars this year and almost feel emancipated. Set me free why don't you babe! Ok enough

I don't mind colour interiors. What I loathe is owning 20 year old vehicles that you can not repair/refinish because a colour match is almost impossible. My 944 S2 has a blue interior but it's about 4 different shades <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.png" class="smilie" alt="" /> At least with black you can fix your interior with a reasonable selection of good used parts.

When I was still looking for a 968 my requirements were: Coupe, 6sp, <acronym title='Limited Slip Differential'>LSD</acronym> and that it NOT have a black interior! Funny, because up til then I wanted nothing BUT black interiors in my cars. Maybe it's an age thing?

I have never been afraid of color. It's just that purple was never really my color. I'll embrace the magenta and see how it goes. My favorite car interior was on a Nogaro Blue Audi S4 that I owned. I had the blue alcantara interior. Great looking. Of course, the door trim was black, the dash was black with aluminum, and the headliner was black. It wasn't a total sea of blue. it was bright though.

Adding new link to the car since it has been moved from Sale Pending to Sold on the website:

I agree with DaveN. Color is great, but with black it is just so much easier to find replacement parts. Trying finding a plastic screw cover in anything but black! I'm really happy I at least have a combination light gray and black.

Well, my 1:43 scale 968 coupe model cars are starting to arrive from eBay.

My shipment of parts from Flash will be here any day.

I guess it's about time to tell my wife that I bought a 968. I was hoping to get through the holiday weekend before the isht hits the fan, but I'm sure she's getting a little suspicious.

If you don't hear from me again, consider my wife as the prime suspect in my disappearance.

My M030 car is a combination of Polar Silver with magenta Porsche script seats. I have to admit it took a while to get used to but the interior color has grown on me...

I wonder what Butzi was thinking when Grandpa said "Form follows function"? What function does purple have in a sports car? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

lol - weight savings. i know i am immediately rendered about 3lbs lighter every time i see one.

seriously though, no offense intended. i can actually appreciate it in the right context, and not want it for myself at the same time. i feel the same way about harleys. i hate them, but can still appreciate them.

I'm trying like hell to find a nice seat cover for the car. Seems like nobody makes one for a car with the heavily bolstered Sport Seats. The seat cover will serve two main purposes for me. 1) I can protect the seats because they are in fantastic condition. 2) I can tone down the purple a bit. The only covers I think I've found for Sport Seats are sheepskins. They aren't cheap either (although they are 15% off today - cyber Monday).

Anyone have a source for decent seat covers for Sport Seats?

if protection is a concern DO NOT put on seat covers. the stuff that gets between the cover and the seats will act like sandpaper and ruin the fabric and leather underneath. i found that one out the hard way.

Good to know. I never thought of that.

So now I have a choice of either ruining really nice sport seats or looking at great expanses or purple.

Wonderful. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/whine.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Think of it this way -- if you're driving the car, you won't be looking at the seats.
