Well, I think I found my 968.

Not sure if I got a really good one or if I've completely lost my mind.

At least I won't confuse it with any other 968.

That's the one! At this point, I'm far from in love with the interior color ... and I haven't seen the car in person. It came through the PPI with great reviews, but I won't see the car until it gets shipped across the country from Costa Mesa to me.

I've got some immediate ideas for it:

1) black form fitting seat covers (front and rear)

2) black suede upper dash cover.

3) black cargo area liner.

4) black Porsche floor mats.

5) black gear shift boot and knob.

6) black 3 spoke steering wheel (maybe CS or maybe other airbag wheel).

7) and I might buy some black sun visors and center console cover.

I'm not going to do anything permanent to the car because I believe the car should remain the unique specimen that it is. If I remove something, I'll be keeping it around so that it can be converted back to factory spec. I am just going to make it more pleasing to me so that I can drive it without getting nauseas.

After I do all of that, I think the amount of "In Your Face" magenta will be more muted and tolerable. And I'm in the Baltimore area, so I'm used to purple and black (Ravens). Magenta lower dash, door panels, and carpeting (mostly hidden under black mats) are things that i can probably live with.

The good stuff outweighs the bad. The M030 option, the LSD option, the sport seats, the years of service records, the fact that it's a California car ... that's all good. I'm not sure how I feel about Amazon Green. I really need to see it in person, but I think it's nice in the photos.

We'll see how it goes. I'll either love it, or I'll be listing it for sale in the Spring. A few of my friends who know that I'm buying this car are already telling me that I'm going to regret it and hate it. I hope their wrong. I look forward to meeting up with East Coast 968 enthusiasts so that the East Coast folks can see the infamous Amazon Green / Magenta car in person. BYO Barf Bag -- just in case.

I hope I'm not making a huge mistake. There were plenty of perfectly nice Red/black cars available for less $$, but they didn't have the factory M030 and the LSD that I wanted. This is my first front engine Porsche. I've had a host of 4 cylinder sports cars ranging from 914s, to E30 M3s, to a Honda S2000, and a Lotus Exige. It'll be interesting to see how the 3.0 4 stacks up.

I expect to receive the car in a couple of weeks.

If all else fails you can get a spary can of black vinyl dye, drill a hole in it, put in a squib and stand back!

I was very interested in seeing your new 968 as I love a megenta interior. I have one with this interior but regular seats-not sport- I will need alot of restoration work on mine as it has been neglected. I tried to see the pictures u had from the website but they would not load. Post some photos when u receive your car. Best of luck with it.

Thank you. I will try to upload some of the photos. I don't really mind the magenta on it's own, but I am worried about how it will look with Amazon Green. Even the Arizona Diamondbacks abandoned that color combo a few years back. Barney the Dinosaur remains a big fan however.

Checked out the pics and that is one "standout" interior! Would I want it? No! Is it unique? Absolutely! All I can say... enjoy! Or as mentioned... enjoy with modifications!

I think you'll really like the Amazon Green. I love mine and the color is blue or green depending on the lighting. With that interior, I don't know, but I know I'd be swayed by the whole package... Enjoy!

I had an M030 car and miss it...

Did not know you joined this sight. Best 968 resource on the planet. Congrats on the car again. And I said on the other forum.......if you need any help with anything or have any questions...do not hesitate to contact me.

M030 cars are really fun to drive, and given the cars you have owned it the past......you should enjoy the heck out of this one.

Thanks everybody. I'm really looking forward to learning a lot about the car, doing some little things to it over the winter, and then introducing it to some East Coast roads in the Spring.

What are the big events to put on my calendar for 2013?

What exterior colors work best with a magenta interior? White? Black? Anyone have photos of other 968s with the magenta interior?

How many of these were produced? I'm thinking you should keep it the way it is!

I have no plans on making any permanent changes. I like to keep an original car all original when possible.

Just trying to think of what most people would think goes with the magenta interior. Silver exterior maybe?
