HI,

Does anybody have any idea how to remove old wax that hit the edge of the Cab top (My top is black)
I have tried mild soaps and doesnt remove it at all.
Any ideas??
Already did a search and could not find anything.

RAGGTOPP fabric cleaner and a toothbrush...'nuff said. Do not use anything harsh as it may affect the dye of the fabric.

How about the fabric protectant stuff - any value to that? Probably PFTE based. Seems to come in a kit in some places.

Thanks

I bought the kit and used the protectant stuff after cleaning. I think it is parafin based and seems to work. I had to mask off the car because you don't want that stuff on the paint or window.

I'm always amazed when I use this for the first time on somebody's convertible top. It always looks OK, but after a cleaning, it's fun to watch all of the dirty grayish brown water rinsing off and then how it looks factory fresh after applying the protectant. Glad you were successful.

rxter, I used the stuff last fall, but the car was in most of the winter so it has not been through a lot of abuse yet. There is still enough in the can to spray the top again I think.

Raggtopped yesterday. Top looks very clean, but the wax is difficult to get out. Even with several applications and a toothbrush I still have some residual wax on there. Protectant stuff goes on today. Pictures at 11.

Might the protectant then seal in the residual wax though?

Looks a lot better today after the top dried overnight - ready for the sealant.

I'm thinking more like an automotive Burqua.

Warning, remove before buying.
