was I speeding officer ?!
#1

faster than the Veyron and better looking ( IMO ) at about 1/2 the price of the Bugatti.

Hey, I wonder if around fifty of us might trade in our cars and then just time-share this one.. the SSC "ultra" model of course, not the more affordable, slow-poke 230mph one

" Engine in base Aero model is a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine rated 787 bhp @ 6600 rpm and 736 ft·lbf torque @ 5800 rpm, while Ultimate Aero model has increased engine displacement and increased supercharger boost, resulting 1046 bhp @ 6950 rpm and 821 ft·lbf torque @ 6200 rpm. It should be noted that the Ultimate Aero requires 104 octane gasoline.

Although unverified yet, wind-tunnel testing indicates that the Ultimate Aero could reach between 260 (418 km/h) and 273mph (437 km/h) given appropriate transmission gear ratios. The base Aero, however, should reach 236 mph.

Despite its performance, Aero’s fuel consumption is rated at 18 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. "

And, if I'm not mistaken...the grounds effects are so good that the car could actually be driven upside down in a tunnel...just for laughs try that in a 968...

the car's untouchable, not me had that needle pushing the 160 mark again a couple of weekends ago on 280. yes, I'm insane. so sue me. and yeah, yeah, I know - speedo error at that level means I was probably driving 154..blah, blah.. as if a few measley mph would matter, considering that you go that fast and still someone in an Aero can pull up next to you, step on the gas and have an additional 100 MPH at their disposal ! NUTS !

p.s. agree - McLaren F 1 ROCKS !!

the parts i like best about the car are the little shelf up front to set your coffee cup on as you are sitting by the car as people gawk at it, and the side storage slot for the golf clubs

Absolutely Awesome!

I love the statement “at this speed the tires are only going to last me 50 minutes but its OK, the fuel will only last 12”

Any idea which year/season that one aired? I'd like to add it to my HD.

not so. As it turns out you can use good ol' pump gas on each model. So get those check books ready.
