Vibration damper
#1

Hunting around for a used 944 S2 vibration damper in relatively good/low miles condition - good luck
PET 944 102 123 06
Since I have to do my waterpump I might was well try the damper for a pre-SC test.

"Harmonic Balancer", I believe, is the term. I thought you were talking about the boat anchor in the back of cabs....

lol - yeah - pet loves to reinvent the wheel - decades of everybody else calling it a harmonic balancer, which is in reality what it is, as it dampens the internal harmonics of the rotational mass under compression, but those wacky germans have to do something just to be different

anyway - good luck on finding one - i have seen a couple of them pop up, but they have always been pretty old, and the rubber was too weak to handle the extra torque applied to it by a supercharger, because the supercharger is driven off of that pulley - when i was looking around, i gave up and i ended up just buying a new one - it wasn't that bad - around $300

i'm still not sure it helped the rattle all that much either, and certainly not as much as i'd hoped, though i am sure it helped the shock impact on the clutch and vibrations on the bearings

I was looking for a used one due to the price PET came up with; I panicked. It was around 400,00 and when I checked the regional setting in PET it was set for Euro's so I thought to myself, wholly crap!

I will check with Pelican. I like Sunsets prices but they only ship UPS and that adds another 75.00 to the price as I have pointed out in earlier threads. UPS charges Canadians a flat 50.00 brokerage and then recharges you shipping from the boarder to your house even after you have paid shipping to the supplierf for the whole trip.
