Took me a while, but I bet the DMV has college educated English Majors working for them. I wonder if they also have computer programs they can run the tags through to work it out. Not many vanity plates use acronyms, most combinations are phonetisized to produce the meaning. Do you "C" what I mean. Most people would try to pronounce "PU" as "pew" as in stinky or "pugh" as in public, but not "puh" as in PUssy cat ! You might get away with it !!!

Saw this one on a stretch Hummer limo in Toronto ..... RCHFKR. Maybe one of these big brokerage firm owners or managers that have totally screwed up the economy for all of us. I am sure if this is the case, many would like to see it changed to DEDFKR !!!

Mine is very straight forward and boring, although it helps becasue no one (other than you guys) seems to know what a Porsche 968 is ...... therefore PRSHA968.

I have had two separate applications for personalized plates rejected ( this was several years back..) and called the DMV to sort things out, since no reason was given for the denial, just a mail notice indicating the request was not approved, and a number to call if I wish to discuss further. In CA. the DMV has a department in Sacramento which deals exclusively with customized plates - anyway, I was told at that time there is a computer program which does the preliminary screening and red flags both accronym combinations and phonetic variations of what might be construed to be commonly used / known "ofensive" terminology in not only english, but spanish as well .. I guess you can get away with other languages' profanities, or at least you could have at that time, may be the program is far more sophisticated now. After the screening, anything selected which is not blatantly obvious and could be given the benefit of the doubt ( not sure why they flat out rejected my DMVSUX request though.. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> ) goes to a live DMV employee ( yes, I realize this is an opening for a lot of jokes <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> ) who will contact the requestor to clarify the meaning of the plate, and ultimately approve or deny the request. Seems like a foolproof system, and yet so many things one thinks would never get trough still do... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

well, depends how you interpret that it could tie in well with the PUC plate <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

though I'm sure this is one must be a track reference <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Never thought of it in a dirty sense. My buddy who isnt an auto enthusiast by any means was really puzzled when he first saw it. He busts my chops and tells people it stands for "I Love Andrew Peter Uyterlinde"......Thats his name.

But yea, its a track reference.

This was taken after changing to the front European lights, removing the bumperettes, and installing black mesh grill in the air intake opening.

My wife's Maxima plates are MUZIKNUT (in the garage behind my 968).

My Ford Exploder plates are SKI EMT as well.

Just got my plate... 968, -968-, 96G8R (I went to Univ. of FL), and IXVI8 were all taken, so I had to steal your idea, Duckman. Hope you don't mind!

I was able to finagle IXVI8! I love that Florida has a bazillion different plates. You can have multiples of the same plate number.

I wonder how many of us there are with IXVI8 plates ? I know I'm the only one in Ca, because the state does not allow a duplicate plate even if one of them is for a tractor , but would be a fun fact to know how many 968, how many NINE68, how many 9SIX8, 96VIII, 9VI8, so on and so forth..plates are out there

yeah, it would be interesting to see... If I didn't have the obligatory Gator Nation tag, I'd have room for the full version: CMLXVIII

Now there's a perfect custom plate for any 968 owner that lives in Rome
