Ultima Battery
#1

I charged my new Ultima battery when I put it in last week, and I just noticed some battery acid on my garage floor. I must have over charged it. Do you think I damaged it. It seems to be working fine.

why did you charge it? It should have came precharged. If it is workin fine now you should be ok. Although I am not sure if you will have the same lifespan.

i was talking to a guy this weekend who races with one - he said when an optima dies, it doesn't take a recharge well - this makes me wonder if it just doesn't like trickle charging

Bob,

Am I missing something? It is a sealed unit. I've sent an email to Battery USA.

These are not like the Porsche Batteries you buy at the dealer. They are sealed no additional fluids needed. Your battery sounds like a dud. It should have been delivered charged. I would ask for a new unit.

Wait a minute...

This thread started out talking about an 'Ultima' battery; and now it has changed over to an 'Optima' brand.

Are they 2 different brands, or, is the Ultima a model of Optima?

I'm confused.

Typo error. Sorry! I just talked to batterysareus and I'm okay with my battery. If you get one make sure you check on-line for charging insturctions. That's where I went wrong.
