Treated Myself To Some Support
#1

Thanks Flash

Just visited the e-commerce store and spent some Canadian tire money on the firewall brace, strut tower brace, rear chassis brace, heat shield, and power steering tensioner. I hope I made it in time for your holiday cutoff. Good thing for UPS as the current Canada post strike is really throwing a wrench into things. I keep forgetting until I check the mailbox to find it empty.

Thanks for making the process smooth!

Wow, that's a lot of braces, maybe we should start calling flash "The Orthodontist".

If you have A/C you should get the AC brace also...those ears have been known to snap and the D1R brace is great insurance against $800 part.

i don't have an AC brace - i do have a new tensioner with an idler pulley though, and it alters how the tensioner works, thereby improving the structural integrity of the compressor ears

What? 587-777-7521

I didn't think I needed the AC brace as that was replaced with the supercharger kit. No?

Flash

I thought I had added the rear chassis brace to my order. I will have to look again and add it if I missed it

Numbers fixed!

Sorry. Guess I should have been specific. I ordered the lower suspension brace, not the chassis brace. My bad.

Guess what arrived today?

Many thanks on the speedy service.

Now I just need to find the time to install them. Hopefully next week as I am scheduled on the 15th to do a local track day.

I suppose I will get around to replacing the SC components Flash sent as part of the last Rev.

Somewhat OT, but it is amazing what you can do with a little JB Weld on those pesky A/C ears..... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

What might the implications be of NOT changing the pulleys?

Yet......

the belt runs in the wrong groove which among other things immediately voids the warranty due to loading the bearing improperly - they will not support the unit if there is belt wear on the outside groove - it also causes premature belt wear - if you have any belt dust on the hood or around the unit, you know this is happening - i said that months ago multiple times - it must run in the center of the 8 grooves, not toward the outside

do not drive the car without installing the new parts!

Well, no belt dust to date. I am however swapping the parts Monday while adding the other goodies you sent me. Thanks for the heads up. I did read about the updates through the forum but must have missed the urgency of your update. Fortunately the car has not been driven much due to the weather and work commitments. Thanks again.

I think he means the chassis brace/roll bar, and it comes with an optional harness bar, which can also serve to mount an in-car video camera (I sound like a commercial...). There was a long thread (several, in fact, iirc) about it. It's also on Flash's e-commerce site. I've got one on order myself. Looks like a very well-designed piece.

I purchased the lower suspension brace which mounts underneath the car. The chassis brace mounts inside and is substantially larger. Check out the store. Flash has pictures and descriptions of both.
