I've obtained a copy of the 1992 (Episode #6) Top Gear where Jeremy Clarkson test drives and reviews the "upcoming" 968. The file is 178MB and is somewhat crude (transfered from VHS) courtesy of a member on the FinalGear.com forums. I can edit it down to only include the 968 review possibly. I'd like to create a sticky for everyone to enjoy it, just need someone to host it for us.

For some reason Adobe Premiere wouldn't open the file (something about unsupported compression), so I tried using several other free AVI editors and couldn't get it to work. To make a long story short, I took Bandit's advice and uploaded it using my GMail account, link is below. ENJOY!

Like I said before, it's somewhat crude since it came from VHS, you can ignore the tracking lines in the begining, it clears up, and I wouldn't view it full screen either because the pixels are the size of legos.

They limited my T3 here at work. Could their timing be any worse!

Am I the only one that plans on deleting that video after listening to Jeremy's remarks near the end.

Yeah, he wasn't a fan. I have a book that is a compilation of 968 reviews and most of them state the fact that the 968 was priced to high for what it was, even though it was the "best handling sports car in the world." It's main competition at the time was the 300ZX and the RX-7, both of which were faster (more power). At the end of the day, I feel more comfortable stating I own a Porsche and knowing I can out corner and out brake just about anything on the road to this day.

I agree. I've heard the RX7 statement a number of times but never heard the ZX scenario. I drove the RX and i must say that the twin T rotary is a blast. Rotaries and turbos are a match made in heaven. however most of the RX7s from the early 90s are in scrap yards with burn marks on them. I was planning on getting one as a project car but now would rather have a 951.

Remember, there was a period car & driver test with the 968 cab vs the C4 vette convertible and the 300zx and the 968 won the test.
