What exactly is the air box mod? Why would I want to do it? What does it cost?

I know... I'm being a lazy jerk for not rummaging around and finding the information myself!

So will the new batch require a 2.125" hole like the most recent batch, or 2.0" like the first round?

Out of curiosity, roughly how many sets of rings have you sold so far? Just wondering how many people are in the process of doing the mod. Of course, this wouldn't count those who have chosen to go ringless...

I originally had 40 rings - 10 sets. I have 10 sets in the order queue and have material for 20 sets on order.

Interesting to note that the majority of orders I fill for all of my products are for non-active members (meaning not regular posting personalities we all know). Power to the Lookie loo's!

My UPS guy delivered my supply of ring material at 8:00 pm yesterday (damn those guys work hard!) <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wacko.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Shipments will be going out this afternoon.

i'm not sure if i'm one of the regular guys or a "lookie-loo", but i received my port trim pieces from dave this weekend. after running the mod with holes only and no trim for a week, i was pleasantly surprised how much quieter the engine ran with the trim pieces on. i'm not sure whether the ports stiffened the box or tuned the frequency (maybe both), but i can say that my experience is that not only do the ports make the box look much better, they also quiet the throaty rumble.

thanks much dave and flash!

p.s. i also checked my air box after 12 days of holes and it couldn't have been any cleaner. one fly in the air filter, that was all. maybe that was because i was running with no grille??? i also ordered that from dave and installed it. looks great.
