I was going to suggest you add that to the project list until I realized the moment you turn on the AC you lose exponentially more power than you'll ever gain , lol..

this is one of those that i thought about 9 years ago. i came to that conclusion then. haven't changed my mind about it.



due to needing to introduce very cold whatever it is in order to have a positive effect, i think the cost would be more than the gain

And you would need to be running your AC all of the time. Power to run AC versus power gains from a cool throttle body - most likely negative.



If you are that keen, perhaps a water to air intercooler, but I could not figure out where to put the additional radiator (apart from in front of the AC condensor and radiator).



Much easier to have fresh air to the intake.

Worrying about the TB heating up the air is probably much ado about nothing. Throttle body and intake are so intimately attached to one another and the head, that I suspect heating of the air from the TB is a minor part of the heat transfer equation. Once the engine is up to temp, take a temp probe to the TB and the intake. You might be surprised how little difference in themp there is. Now if you used special gaskets (with low heat transfer coefficient) to attach the intake to the head, and also the same for the TB to the intake, then you may net some gain. But even there you'd want to isolate the nuts/bolts from flowing heat from one part to the other. Can be done, but takes some effort to make any significant gains.
