The Stig REVEALED.
#1

What was the purpose of Top Gear doing that ?! No big f'ing surprise, I suspected all along it was Schumacher but still, that minuscule doubt was enough to put all the fun into the Stig's secret identity and even more so the
" Some say.. " routine, which was such a great part of all of it.. Can't do that routine anymore and no doubt the producers probably feel they'll create the same sense of mystery surrounding the identity of the new Stig for the next "N" number of seasons, but I don't believe it will generate nearly the same legendary or mythical proportions this character has..

I for one am very disappointed.

You must be just catching up to season 14, they did that STIG thing last year. Both my son and I think it was just a rouse to get attract attention to Schumachers pending appeance on the show. We doubt it was the STIG, heck, they didn't even reveal the last Black STIG, just killed him off by launching him from an aircraft carrier.
Some say...

there has been more than one stig - they have made reference to that in a couple of episodes, saying things like "the first stig"

Agreed, that was one of the reasons that made the show interesting and comical at times. Not to mention the very impressive driving of the UNknown. But then again...... isn't Schumacher suppose to enter F1 again next year? Maybe conficts with the up coming F1 season! Hey, now they may need a NEW test driver. Get your resumes together guys.

He is not really the Stig. It was a publicity stunt for Ferrari...he is still on their payroll. That is why he to drove the Ferrari FXX on their track

Shumi was there to drive his personal FXX on the track, he is not the usual Stig. I'm sure it was also good PR for him.

The usual white Stig is said to be Ben Collins:

However some have hinted that others wear the suit from time to time as needs must. I doubt that they always use the same Stig for some of the less intense stuff that does not really require a racing driver. Like, for example, driving a Caterham to Scotland for a Challenge.

your taking the show too seriously.

Of course that wasn't the regular Stig. I mean c'mon, do you really think Schumacher appears season after season to to train celebrities and test drive cars around that track?

Apparently, I am just catching up with what I thought it was the new season , and wondering how could I have missed that show last season, thought I saw them all.. oh well, out of touch again ..
True, they hinted that a few other drivers may take on the role of the Stig on various occasions, but always thought there was a first and a mainstay one ( one and the same ) all along..
Publicity ? Why would Shumi or Ferrari need anymore publicity.. it's not like they're going to sell any more FXXs that they would have, with his appearance on the show ?

Hey, that's the best show on TV .. ( followed by Dexter ) so gotta take it seriously !

speaking of the FXX

Why did they say that Buyers never take delivery. That claim wasn't factual, was it?

I've read a decent bit about the FXX project and its all about designing the next Enzo. So the buyers become part of the research team. I think the "option" is there for them to store the car for you and deliver it to different tracks for you but its not mandatory. And that makes sense as Part of the deal is Track days on Ferrari dime. They even provide a pit crew that provides all maintenance before and after your run.

Nice to see the rest of the world way behind the UK for a change!, (well at least with the 'top Gear' episodes/seasons.) The Stig stunt was way back last season's shows. They've just finished now till the autumn (fall) here in the UK, I'm hoping they are coming to film some items at my workplace next season.

I am a real fan of "top gear". The reveal of Schumacher as the Stig was a great stunt. I could see him being the Stig on occassions. However, the mysteriousness of who it is was part of the show. I wonder why someone in the US has not thought to do an American version of this show. We seem to copy all the other shows from the UK that are really dumb, e.g. "Idol".

OMG! Yes on behalf of the silent majority within the UK, I would like to whole heartedly apologise for inflicting onto the rest of the world the cretin that is 'Simon Cowell', and all of his ideas. I am truly sorry to all of you But to make matters worse, 27 million UK TV viewers tuned into the final of X-factor, so again, you can fool all of the people, all of the time......they walk amongst us! lol.

I wonder if the FXX has the same purchase requirements Ferrari ( allegedly ) imposes on some of the other top end limited models - you have to be an current Ferrari owner to be eligible for the waitlist ..

Thanks to the Internet, we're not that far behind the UK when it comes to Top Gear. Episodes find themselves up there within a day of UK broadcast.

Dan, on the other hand, appears to be waiting for the episodes to appear on BBC America, which is couple of months behind.... (Dan, send me PM if you're anxious for the rest of Season 14).
