I just upgraded all six bulbs in the '94 to SilverStar (4000K) bulbs, and at $120, am quite disappointed with the light output. I was hoping for more light, not necessarily the "HID" look. I currently have the Sylvania Xtravision bulbs in the '95, and I feel there is a greater quantity of light cast downroad in both the low and high beam settings with the Xtravision vs SilverStar. To Sylvania's credit, they are going to refund the $$'s, but that begs another question: There must be others who are noticing the same thing, right?

According to the mfg. (Sylvania) the Silver star is whiter light and does not cast as broad a pattern as the Xtravision. (sounds like a bonus clip on a DVD) Maybe thats the difference you see. Try one in each side and park on a dark road (safely off the street) walk away about 50 yards and you'll be able to judge them at the same time. (in a different light) keeping in mind that the drivers side light is aimed differently than the passenger side. (drivers side down and in)

Just a thought, not disagreeing with you. My only experience has been with my truck (stock and Silverstar) Silverstar +++++ than stock.

I'd installed Silverstar in my previous car (Bonneville SSEi) and could only tell the difference between it and stock by shining the headlights on my garage door and thinking I saw a difference. (I made the change on only one side to enable me to see the difference.) In terms of driving - I could not discern any worthwhile (or even noticeable) advantage.

There must be different Silver Star bulbs, I just saw Sylvannia Silver Star 9003 at Autobarn.com for $25.
