Now that my major worries are behind me, I'm having a hard time deciding what the next logical step is in getting my car to where I want it. Makes sense for the exhaust to be the next big purchase, after all the sound alone will put a huge grin on face when I rev. But the wear on the drivers seat is stealing some of the joy I get from driving it as well the pride I take in showing the car. I often tilt the seat forward when I get out because that side bolster has become such an eye sore. Then there's all those little things. Perhaps Thats a better start as total $$ isn't that bad.

One more thing, the wife and I are working hard at becoming debt free so large chunks of money will be going to pay off our new HVAC and a couple of home projects resting on credit.

All thoughts appreciated. Here's the list:

Short shifter
New gear shifter knob and boot
Sport seats
• Cobra misano
• Recaros
• Porsche sport
Sport steering wheel
Plugs, cap, wires
Springs
RSB or BB Exhaust
Glove box fix

I got the catback exhaust on mine and it sounds awesome.

My neighbor said that is the best sounding car he has ever heard. I love hearing it myself with the top down.

The seats sound like a source of frustration for you too. I prefer original looking seats myself.

Second, Suspension upgrades
Third, Brake Upgrades (Assuming that you meet the standards in #1)
Fourth, Power Upgrades
Fifth, Cosmetic Upgrades.

i would do all of the maintenance items first (plugs, cap, wires, AC)

then i would do the things that you touch next (short shifter, steering wheel, seats) - these are things that will change the feel of the car every time you get in it, and be more fun to drive, regardless of whether you are going faster or not

then i would worry about performance items like the springs and exhaust

tinting is dead last

Car feels pretty close to 100% now. THat was also my goal before spending money elsewhere. I haven't even started pricing the springs yet. Gonna look into that as it adds something in both the look and feel.

Agreed- But didn't think anyone would be with me on this one. A clean/well laid out cockpit makes the experience more enjoyable, as you said, fast or slow!

yup - that's exactly why i don't like the boxster - it has nothing to do with the performance of the car - it has entirely to do with how i feel in the cockpit - much the same in the M3 - that armrest is a pain and the shifter is so sloppy i can't stand it
