Lime Rock Park is round 5 of the Pro IT series. Been fortunate with the new 968 ITR Porsche and have led laps in all three races. This race at Lime Rock was a little wild. Right before our run group there was a horibble crash where a Miati struck a Lotus Exige that was spun and stopped on the track. They hit nose to nose - see the video link...

My race went smooth - haven't been to LRP in two years, not since they repaved it. Took a few laps but it all came back. Being able to study new in car video on YouTube really helped, plus looking at old in car video. Qualified third overall. On the start the BMW misses a shift - pulled fifth. The 968 has so much more torque than the Mazda RX7 that car was an easy pass. An E46 drills me twice into turn one and knocks a hole in my bumper and gouges up the right rear wheel, but his front end got knocked in pretty bad, broke a light and realigned the bumper, so he got the worst of it.

Unfortunately on lap twelve the exhaust comes loose and it was dragging. I might have been able to continue but if anything fell off and hurt somebody....I'm glad I just pulled off.

Looked like a nice, fun easy drive thru the CT. countryside before you broke. You have a smooth driving style and great videos.

That Miata accident was scarry!

Did the love tap you got at the start have anything to do with the exhaust problem or was it unrelated? It looks like you had them covered.

Not sure if the tap loosened it up or not - sure was a bust having to pull over after leading :-(

I think these guys are now nervous about this car - several race teams have contacted me to buy the blue street car but not selling yet :-) Curious to see if anybody else builds an ITR 968.

Nice video. You had a great race minus the exhaust problem ! They should be scared !
