synchronizers

Does anyone know for sure if the 968 manual trans uses BRONZE synchros?

Are the forward synchros all the same (prices vary on the PET/ pelican diagram)?

I found a Transaxle oil that clearly states safe for "yellow metals" and has wax additives. BUT, it does not appear to have the proper additives for the LSD.

Anyone use this.....? possibly in combination with GM LSD additive......?

honestly don't know but I used LE-607 in my S2000 because of the yellow metals and if I ever get around to changing my own again that's what I will use.

I don't know for a fact they are Bronze only, but I do know they aren't Steel.

These Are used in Porsche racing transmissions- Ihave part numbers for Steel options

Read over the Liquid Engineers website....

ALMASOL 607 seems like a great lube...exceeds GL-5...2 micron particles....works with 'yellow' metals.....

But nothing on the LSD additives, though. Might have to upgrade to a Quaife diff to avoid friction plates.... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Whole point to this thread is that if I am going to rebuild the transaxle, might as well do it a right as I can...

RS Barn: If you know: are those c-moly steel synchros? How are they long term compared to Bronze? How is the wear on the main gear?
