If that's real and it purports to be, that salesman already has an attorney and is thinking seven figures.

Seems it's fake. Fun idea though!

I sold cars briefly about 25 years ago at one of the lower points of my life.... Did the reverse of this on a smart arse young guy who kept bagging a car while testing it and saying it was much slower and didn't handle as well as another car he had tested. I asked him to stop and let me drive and I took him for a 'ride' around some quiet country back roads behind the dealership. Scared the crap out of him and got into trouble but it was satisfying to shut him up <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

It would depend on whether or not at the end of the drive he agreed to release the footage and was potentially compensated for it. His reactions do seem somewhat realistic, but you don't know how much after "production" dubbing of voice was done and added to when the external shots were shown.

Overall though, it is a good take, but seems too well planned for a simple set-up. If I had to bet, it is staged. Funny as hell.

There is another clip on YouTube of one of the ex:F1 drivers taking his wife fr a run around a track in Europe. That was not staged. Her reaction and comments to him are classic.

back when i was interning for stunt driving i had a bit of "fun" at the expense of salesmen. not quite what we saw there, but quite a bit of hot-rodding, donuts, and a nice slide back into the parking slip.

It seemed remotely plausible until he drove up onto (and off of) the loading docks.

that would take some planning

Mega planning, to ensure nobody walked out a door of the building when he was flying by, and yet nobody was outside and visible either so the salesman would still think it was an impromptu test drive.

I don't think that you can knowingly, intentionally, put another persons life at risk without their prior consent, so it seems to me this is a fake.

The F1 driver was Ricardo Pitresse. Link to the clip below - I did not watch it but there is one with English translation subtitles as well.

Hmm, why is it that F1 drivers' wives always look more like they should be their daughters ? Also, seems he had the A/C on a bit while he was driving ..:-) :-)

I always wondered if Snopes is THE undisputed authority on what is fact or fiction..after all, who validates THEIR info ?! LOL, seems like a never ending process.. From what I have seen they do come up with plausible support for the majority of their "verdicts" but I hear they're right only about 70% of the time, so plenty of room for error ( do we check with Snopes on that hearsay ?! ) Anyway, back to the video: my first thought was that it's staged, but then there are so many other real pranks being pulled off nowadays with little disregard for risk and consequences that I would not be at all surprised if this one was real. Besides, if that sales guy is an actor, he's not bad at all..

This is another in the Pepsi Max series. Not about driving, but extremely entertaining, especially for the old farts among us.

The one with Ricardo Patresse is great. I can understand most of the Italian and the comments his wife was making were very funny. Her reaction reminds me of the reaction I got from a newbie back seater the first time I introduced him to the fine art of taking down an NVA SAM site. He swore he would never get in the back seat of any plane I flew.

The Patrese video is odd - don't know how long he's been married to this woman, but are we to believe she's never ridden with him driving before? Maybe if I understood Italian, it would clear it up a little.

She knows all too well how he drives. She says stuff like "This isn't a forumla 1 car" and "I'll kill you" and "every time I get in the car with you it's the same". He knew she'd react that way from prior experience and filmed the whole thing. That's why he's calm and smirking the entire time.. Her reaction when she realizes the camera is there is great...

Cloud, watch the video with the subtitles, it will clear it up. As per above, he knows that the camera is there and is filming, but she doesn't. The subtitles are very funny. I still laugh every time I watch this.
