As I added the new CF wing I struggled to get the gasket around the lower wing to fit back in place correctly- Its showing its age and I haven't tested it yet to see if it still keeps out the water.
I have replaced my stereo 3 times since I got my 68. During the last replacement I removed the gauge cluster to access a spot for my bluetooth mic, I also wanted to tap the speed wire. This caused my airbag light to go off once I put it all back together.
Finally listen to Pat and got a sub woofer. You could say I listened to Bob as well as he told me I would be happy with a Bazooka tube. While running the wires to the trunk and under the carpet many of the little buttons that hold the rear carpet to the side walls in the hatch area now refuse to snap back together.
Remember my thread about the ticking dead battery? Replaced it last week and pulled out my stereo to see if it had a loose wire grounding itself and causing a slow drain. As I unscrewed the gearshift bracket from the center console the plastic screw hole simply fell apart! brittle plastic.
Seems that each upgrade or change evokes a problem.
Still love the car, just venting a little frustration. Why does every step forward in restoring my 68 takes me one step back?
