Strange noise?
#1

Any ideas? My 1993 Black Coupe is still new to me and today I heard a couple of times a strange beep. I didn't see any lights pop up on the dash. I just got the car back from the dealership, had all belts and pulleys replaced.

Thanks, csc71 Steve

That's pretty vague, you need to provide some details as to what you were doing at the time. Starting the car? Putting it in gear? Just taking off?

Like I for example get a quick whirring sound everytime I put the car into motion past a certain speed after having parked it. Not quite sure what it is either, sounds like something is locking <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Ahhh yes, mystery beep! My white '93 coupe has it too. I'm new to the car also. Its only when I shut it off. I'll turn the key, the engine stops, there's a pause, then 5 computery type beeps. No clue what it is at all. I figured it was the aftermarket stereo. Wierd.

I was driving around, local roads.

I think the air conditioning was on.

It sounded a little like when you hibernate your computer? A couple of beeps?

Yep, that's it. They're pretty high pitched. Come to think of it, it has popped up maybe once or twice while driving.

Oil level warning perhaps? My car is nearly a quart down.

By chance did you have your cell-phone tuned on...? I had a similar issue when I'd drive pass a cell site the phone would address the cell repeater and induct noise into the radio and/or wiring. It obviously gets worse when I store the phone under the radio. If the phone is off I don't have any issues.

Thanks for your input.
