Sorry - slightly gross - anyone have a Plantar Wart?
#1

Got one right at the edge of my left arch. Glad it's not on the ball or heel. Getting it excised in 3.5 weeks. Painful little bastard!!!! Never had one before. I'm falling apart - I think the Mrs is going to trade me in on a younger model with fewer miles!!!!

My wife had one on her heel. They are really hard to kill, it just kept comming back! After the 4th time she had it cut out, it finally decided to give up the battle and leave.

Good luck!

Damn virus sucks!

I've been using salicylic acid on the little bastard since May. It only makes it angrier. I think it actually mocks me when it sees the treatment coming...

Good luck with the battle.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Just like a wart one could get on their hand, except these gems are specific to the bottom of the foot. If you get one where you apply pressure on a regular basis (like at the heal or at the ball), they hurt like a mo'fo. They hurt like a mo'fo anytime pressure is applied no matter where they are. And apparently they are a b!tch to make disappear. Something like 25% or so actually come back even after excising. Guess you really need to remove a lot of flesh if you want to be sure! I'll find out in a few weeks.

And thanks!

I'm starting to gross myself out...

I had one on the ball just under the pinky tow on my left foot for the longest time...it started as a small hard pimple and spread to about the size slightly smaller than a dime and was very spongy. I tried various OTC topical treatments, filing it down, digging at it, poking at it, etc. My family doctor tried to freeze it at one point in time but that just made the top layer turn white and flake off and obviously didn't kill it completely.

I did lots of reading and basically decided that since it didn't hurt to walk, I'd leave it alone and eventually get it cut out when convenient. I remember being in my bare feet, which is rare for me, out on my patio and rubbing my foot on the concrete to "file it down" some more. I also made a more conscious effort to keep it dry. Low and behold, one day I just picked at it and it fell off. I was very skeptical and figured it was just the top layer and that it would be back, but it's still gone and that was quite a while ago. My foot completely smooth and there are no signs of where it was. Go figure. Good luck!
