Anyone test inflate their spare??

I hesitate to do this...I am not sure it will go back to original size...or will just split open.......

I just sell them to 356 guys for $250.
I've sold 6 of them over the last 18 months.

If you need a spare, sell yours than just buy one from a 944 and pocket the change.

I have inflated mine in both of my cars several times, mainly to just be sure that it still works. It does go back in. You may need to squeeze it a little to get the last bit of air out. Kind of neat how it works.

Sell the spare. remove the jack.
Save the weight and get a can of fix a flat and an Automobile Club membership.

I was forced to use my spare last month. It inflated with no problem and when deflated completely collapsed back to the pre-inflation size. I did have to squeeze the last of the air out.

I went with Silvy968's plan. I needed somewhere to mount the sub amp so I ditched the spare and mounted the amp in the spare tire cavity. I just hope I remember to get a can of fix-a-flat before I take off in the spring [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif[/img]

If you haven't already, line the trunk and the spare tire location with Dynamat. You will not be sorry.
Hugh diff in sound and cuts down on transaxle/tire noise.

Funny you should mention that. I have been debating whether to rip out the carpet/seats/door panels and install B-Quiet (much cheaper than Dynamat and just as good). I hear it takes 2 full days to do and I already have my car 90% back together so I might wait until next winter. I know your supposed to do the whole bottom of the car but maybe I will just do the back as an experiment. If you heard a big difference them maybe I'll order up some, after all the rear is really easy to do.

I didn't "test" inflate it - I inflated it for real, when I had a flat. It inflated easily, worked well, and deflated with much less hassle than I expected - and it fit back in the trunk well. Pretty nifty. I'm keeping the spare (at least for now).
