and just for the record, I wasn't violating any speed limit laws on that frontage road
Oh, you were movin! Do you recall what gear that was? I'm guessing 3rd with a shift to 4th at the end of the clip. That puts your right around 90mph. Now if it was 4th -5th... WOW!

I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!

spot on !! third gear, shifting into fourth. I'll say this though... in both fourth and fifth at wot, between 5400 and 7000 rpm ( my chip lets it go to 7800 rpm, but I never take it further than 7000 ) the exhaust note is the most beautiful sound I could hope for ( well, ok other than a DB9 .. ) , even better IMO than 3rd at wot..

Daryl, Patrick, Cosimo

If you want to do it and get the RSB Catback and Headers, we will need to do it in the next two weekends as the blue car will be changed after that.

A tentative YES...I may have an appointment that day, but I can probably move it. I should actually know fairly soon, probably by COB tomorrow 2/15. I'll simply move it to Sun 24th. Mark, are we coming to your place or do we want to invade my office parking lot?

Your place is probably easier as that is where all the equipment is located.

OK 23rd IT IS!! A cross post on the events list is fine...come one, come all. Hopefully the weather will be at least decent. Please PM with your e-mail address and I'll blast out a quick set of directions. I'm basically at Dulles airport - literally about 2 miles, so it's easy to get to. I've got lots 'o heated garage space, so we'll get the recordings done and make a day of it.

Ok finally have a chance to post something this weekend. I went out today in the morning and found a good spot to do a quick recording.

I managed to get my hands on an Apex 175 condenser super-cardioid, hooked it up to my Edirol, checked the levels, and started gunning it. Sadly I couldn't get a laptop

The mic was about 7' back from the car, on the passenger side, at around 40* from the exhaust. After I got back home I upped the bass just a little bit to make it come through a bit more, should be more or less accurate. Hopefully Flash won't disapprove completely

Here is the video (Divx 6.8):

I'm waiting with great anticipation as to what you guys come up with on your exhaust note recording day extravaganza
